Hypixel SkyBlock 0.27.1 Price Changes: What the Patch Did to Bazaar and AH Prices

Last verified · Patch 0.27.1

The launch-week shard spike has already given back most of its gains, the Ananke Feather dipped and then recovered, and the Golden Dragon Pet average fell after the September 17 patch. Here is what moved, which patch change lines up with each move, and what to buy, hold or sell this week.

The Hypixel SkyBlock 0.27.1 price changes that matter to a trader come down to three moves as of September 26, 2026. Shards bought on launch day cost about three times what the same shards cost a week later. The Ananke Feather fell after its drop-rate cut before it climbed back. The Golden Dragon Pet daily average fell after the September 17 patch lifted the Golden Dragon Egg purchase limit.

This page is for players who already trade on the Bazaar or Auction House. Buying a Golden Dragon Egg yourself needs roughly 581M coins of capital, the Kuudra and shard trades need 1–35M, and Faction Rabbit supply needs Chocolate Factory V. If you are looking for patch notes to progress with rather than prices, the 0.27.0 update guide is the better start.

Status: 0.27.1 and the September 17 patch, prices as of September 26, 2026

0.27.1 “Chocolate Factory Improvements, QOL Changes, and more” went live on September 1, 2026. The September 17 patch was the latest official change as of September 26. Every price below carries the date it was read.

What changed in 0.27.1 that touches prices?

These are the changes from the wiki’s September 1 and September 17 changelog entries that add supply, remove supply or change demand for a traded item.

The same changelog puts the economy in context. In the week of August 14–20, farming produced 50.96% of all coins generated; after the August 20 Greenhouse patch it still produced 43.25% (August 21–27), and Mutation income fell from 1.09T to 577B that week. Farming is still the biggest source of coins entering the economy.

In his September 1 release video, Derailious called farming “just a comedically large amount of the economy as a whole”, pointing out that 43% of all coins generated still come from farming after the Greenhouse changes. He said he wonders whether the team will add “some more diversity of money-making methods”.

Should you sell your faction rabbits?

Derailious liked the faction system in his August 26 alpha video: “I actually quite like this system.” He pointed out that faction rabbits are items you pick up and can sell to other players, so you can buy rabbits from another faction on the Bazaar instead of switching. In the September 1 release video he added that he did not believe you can take a rabbit back out once it is added to your faction collection, though he said “I could be wrong about that”, so sell before you consume one if you only want the coins.

What did 0.27.1 do to Bazaar and AH prices?

Why did the Chocobun and Mafioso shards crash after launch?

The Chocobun Shard averaged 4.85M on September 1 (14:00 UTC), its first day on the Bazaar. By September 7 it averaged 1.50M, and by September 25 it averaged 995.6K, down 79.5% from launch. On September 26 (12:26 UTC) it quoted 1.39M buy and 857.8K sell, a spread wide enough to show how thin the market still is.

The Rabbit Mafioso Shard, a Crime Family shard and therefore a Chocobun fusion input, did the same thing. It averaged 265.1K on August 30, jumped to 1.62M on September 1 when the new fusion went live, fell to 559.5K by September 7 and averaged 374.0K on September 25. The Bunbun Shard, the other input, quoted only 15.7K buy on September 26 (12:33 UTC).

The cause of the spike is dated: the Chocobun fusion was added in the September 1 patch, and the Mafioso jump lands on that day. Players who bought the inputs on launch day paid four to six times the price available a few weeks earlier and later.

Ironman players cannot buy their way around that. In his September 1 release video, Derailious said he is “not personally the biggest fan” of the Chocobun fusion, because Ironman players have to either farm a lot of Chameleons or gather the Chocolate Factory shards themselves. He suggested making the Chocobun Shard appear in eggs as well.

Why did the Ananke Feather fall after a drop-rate nerf?

The Ananke Feather drop rate from Kuudra Tier 5 paid chests was cut from 0.36% (1 in 277.71 runs) to 0.27% (1 in 369.95 runs) on September 1, according to the wiki item page. A supply cut should push the price up, but the market did the opposite first.

The feather averaged 34.92M on August 27, 30.63M on September 1, 28.55M on September 7 and a low of 27.74M on September 11. It then climbed to 32.78M on September 26, 18% above that low but still 6.1% below August 27. On September 26 (12:26 UTC) it quoted 32.50M buy and 31.85M sell.

No recorded change explains the dip, so this page does not assign it one. What the chart does show is timing: two weeks after a 25% supply cut, the feather was cheaper than before the nerf, and the recovery only came in the second half of the month.

Derailious was split on the nerf in his August 26 alpha video: the feathers “were affecting the economy quite a lot”, so the cut “kind of makes sense”, yet he also said it “does seem illogical they would get a nerf”. His September 1 release video lists the 25% cut without further comment.

The Ananke Shard, which levels the Wings of Destiny attribute that raises the feather’s chance, went the other way. It averaged 826.4K on August 28 and 486.3K on September 25, down 41.2%, but its daily average swung between 380.5K and 1.03M in the same month. On September 26 it quoted 750.0K buy against 242.3K sell. No recorded change explains the drop either, and a spread that wide means the average is not a price you can trade at.

What did unlimited Golden Dragon Eggs do to the pet price?

The Golden Dragon Pet averaged 825.52M on September 7 and peaked at 929.33M on September 14. The September 17 patch then let players buy Golden Dragon Eggs in Crystal Hollows an unlimited number of times. The average fell to 872.01M that day and 794.66M on September 20, and sat at 840.49M on September 26, 3.0% below its August 27 level.

The Golden Dragon Egg recipe on the wiki is 500M coins, 50 Enchanted Gold Blocks and one each of five Perfect Gemstones. With unlimited purchases, that recipe sets the replacement cost of a fresh pet. The daily average mixes fresh and levelled pets, so it does not show on its own how much of the drop was fresh pets getting cheaper.

Did the arrow recipe changes move Enchanted Iron, Slimeball and Gunpowder?

Only Enchanted Iron rose clearly, and even that move is noisy.

  • Enchanted Iron Ingot averaged 562.0 on August 28 and 735.6 on September 25, up 30.9%. Its daily average ranged from 309.8 to 2.8K in that month, so the endpoints are weak evidence. On September 26 it quoted 674.0 buy and 535.0 sell.
  • Enchanted Slimeball fell 24.8%, from 1.8K on August 28 to 1.4K on September 25, despite the new Bouncy Arrow recipe. It is the busiest of the three, with 281M units traded over the month.
  • Enchanted Gunpowder spiked to 10.9K on September 1, was 2.8K on September 7 and was back at 2.0K on September 25, 2.3% above August 28. New Explosive Arrow demand and new mob drops arrived in the same patch. On September 26 it quoted 2.8K buy and 2.2K sell.

Derailious questioned the Explosive Arrow change in his August 26 alpha video: “It was fine as coal. I don’t know why it’s being changed to gunpowder,” adding that more gunpowder sources would help. By the September 1 release video he called the Fireproof Witch and Sneaky Creeper drops “a solid step in the right direction” for that recipe, while noting complaints from Ironman players and asking for more mobs to drop it.

Why is Hemobomb up when the Blood Donor Artifact needs fewer?

Hemobomb averaged 242.1K on August 28 and 392.5K on September 25, up 62.1%. It spiked to 1.36M on August 31, the day before the patch, and again to 1.90M on September 24. On September 26 it quoted 447.0K buy and 304.5K sell.

The patch cut the Blood Donor Artifact recipe from 128 Hemobombs to 32, which lowers crafting demand. The price rose anyway, so something the patch notes do not record is driving it. Treat Hemobomb as unexplained rather than as a reaction to the recipe.

What happened to Flaming Fist, Rock the Fish and Dark Cacao Truffle?

Flaming Fist and Rock the Fish both fell after their drop rates were raised on September 1, which is the direction more supply predicts. Flaming Fist traded 589 units and Rock the Fish 125 in the month to September 26, with one listing each that day, so the size of the move is not a figure to plan around.

Dark Cacao Truffle quoted 74.0K buy and 72.5K sell on September 26 (12:26 UTC). Its earlier daily averages include outliers into the millions, so compare against the live quote rather than the month’s change.

What should you do this week?

  1. Do not buy new patch items or fusion inputs on launch day. The Chocobun Shard was 69% cheaper and the Rabbit Mafioso Shard 65% cheaper on September 7 than on September 1. The next fusion or recipe change will likely repeat that pattern.
  2. Give a drop-rate nerf weeks, not days. The Ananke Feather’s low came 10 days after its supply was cut. If you want feathers for your own items, the dip was the window; the September 26 price is back near pre-patch.
  3. Do not treat a recipe change alone as a buy signal. Enchanted Slimeball fell 24.8% in the month after it became a Bouncy Arrow ingredient. Check the item’s own price and turnover after the change before buying into it.
  4. Price a fresh Golden Dragon against the egg, not the average. Anyone can now make a fresh one from the Dragon for the price in the worked example below, and there is no limit on eggs. Compare any listing’s level before paying more than that.
  5. Ignore day-to-day swings on thin items. Flaming Fist, Rock the Fish and Dark Cacao Truffle all had single-day averages that were not tradable prices.

Worked example: is a Golden Dragon Egg cheaper than buying the pet?

At September 26 Bazaar buy prices (12:27 UTC), the egg costs:

InputQuantityUnit priceCost
Coins to the Dragon1500.00M500.00M
Enchanted Gold Block5084.0K4.20M
Perfect Amethyst Gemstone116.08M16.08M
Perfect Jade Gemstone113.96M13.96M
Perfect Sapphire Gemstone116.00M16.00M
Perfect Amber Gemstone114.04M14.04M
Perfect Topaz Gemstone116.30M16.30M
Total580.58M

The cheapest Golden Dragon Pet on the Auction House was listed at 625.00M on September 26 (12:26 UTC). The price data does not show that listing’s level, so open it before comparing. If it is a fresh pet, buying the egg yourself costs 44.42M less, about 7%; if it is levelled, the two are not the same item.

The daily average of 840.49M is not comparable to either figure, because it mixes levelled pets with fresh ones. The cheapest listing can be any level, so check it before you compare.

Where does this go wrong?

  • Gemstone prices move the egg cost. The Perfect Amethyst Gemstone had a 3.78M spread on September 26 (16.08M buy, 12.30M sell). Buy orders lower your cost, but they take time to fill while listings keep falling.
  • Averages are not fills. The Ananke Shard’s 750.0K buy against 242.3K sell on September 26 means you can lose two-thirds of the value on a round trip.
  • Unexplained moves stay unexplained. Hemobomb and the Ananke Shard moved against what the patch notes predict. Do not trade them as if you know why.
  • Corruption books have no reliable price yet. The recipe change removes incidental supply, but the book price is too noisy to quote.

When does this advice stop working?

The September 1 changelog names several delayed changes, and any of them can reverse these calls:

  • Mob Level Improvements were pulled from 0.27.1 for more adjustment. Recheck combat-drop prices when they release. Derailious agreed with the delay in his September 1 release video: lower-level combat and fishing content came out worse on the alpha, and he had heard Diana and Enderman Slayer spawns were a little worse too. In his August 26 alpha video he still called the system “great” overall, but said some numbers, “especially for fishing”, needed tweaking.
  • Minister perks are being reworked with the Ministers and will come later.
  • Greenhouse follow-ups are planned: plants freeze rather than die, a Mutation spreading minimum and a Unique Crop Bonus change. Farming is the biggest source of coins, so these move the whole economy.
  • The Accessory Bag revamp and Magic Find QOL changes are in development. Either could change demand for accessories and Magic Find items.
  • The Pale Citadel raid has over half of its bosses and enemies implemented. When it releases, recheck every combat-drop price on this page.

A second Golden Dragon change, a further Ananke adjustment or another shard fusion would also reset the relevant section. Check the SkyCofl item page before acting on any figure here.
