Hypixel SkyBlock 0.27.2: Minister Upgrades Worth Checking First

Hypixel SkyBlock 0.27.2 lets you use bait directly from sacks, add specialist upgrades to your Precursor Drone and automate Dungeon potions. Start with the changes your existing unlocks support; the Forest Essence drone upgrade alone costs 873,250 coins at the October 10 buy quote, before you account for the pet.
What do you need before buying upgrades?
For the bait-sack route, you need the Raw Cod collection unlock: the walkthroughs show the small, medium and large sacks at collection levels 3, 5 and 7 respectively. For the drone route, you need a Precursor Drone and access to the Forest Essence shop; buying the upgrade is only one part of that setup. If you cannot yet reach the shop or use the pet, keep your coins for progression instead.
The InfiniPot accessory is sold by Malik for 5,000 Wither Essence and is relevant when you already run Catacombs floors and use Dungeon potions. Treat it as a convenience purchase, with an ongoing potion budget, rather than a reason to start spending on Dungeons.
These mechanics are shown in Udex2’s Minister update walkthrough and 2-B-Determined Gaming’s item walkthrough, as checked on October 7, 2026. Their auto-generated captions support the collection levels and Foraging Fortune bonus below. The official 0.27.2 release thread, checked on October 9, 2026, establishes which perks changed in this release and supplies the other changes below; this remains a focused set of practical upgrades rather than an exhaustive changelog.
Which Minister changes can you use immediately?
Choose bait inside your sack. Both walkthroughs show bait moving into the new sacks, with shift-left-click used to select the bait you want to fish with. Put the sack in your Sack of Sacks and check the selected bait before your next session, especially after moving supplies out of the old fishing bag.
Specialize your Precursor Drone. The update makes the drone base Legendary, with three swappable Drone Mods: Grungle from the Forest Essence shop, Mining off Camera from the Diamond Essence shop for 2,500 Diamond Essence, and Contraband crafted from Backwater Bayou junk. As shown on October 7, the Forest Essence upgrade costs 2,500 essence and gives 50 Foraging Fortune; start by pricing that upgrade against the activity you actually play.
Check automatic potion spending. The InfiniPot consumes a Dungeon potion from your inventory or potion bag when a run begins. If you have none, it buys your desired tier using coins from your purse or bank. Review its selection and automatic-purchase setting before a run, so convenience does not become an unnoticed recurring expense.
Which Minister perks were already available?
Potato Ring and Blood God Sigil were already in the game and unchanged in 0.27.2. The release thread includes them in the complete Minister perk list, but explicitly says they were not adjusted in this release. They upgrade the Potato Talisman and Blood God Talisman using items gathered from Shiny Pigs.
The unchanged perk does not mean every Year of the Pig reward is unchanged. Under general changes, the 0.27.2 thread adds a pity for the Blood God Crest at 1,000 Shiny Pigs and an NPC sell price of 500,000 coins; these are release values, not a live market quote. It also adds a Potato Talisman pity at 2,000 Shiny Pigs.
Kuudra’s Kidney, Lung and Heart were also already in the game and unchanged in 0.27.2. The thread describes this accessory line as crafted from Kuudra Tentacles bought from paid Kuudra chests. Do not treat either accessory group as a newly introduced reason to buy ingredients for this patch.
What else changes your routine in 0.27.2?
Keep Greenhouse mutations without timing every login. A mutation now needs both its decay timer and its minimum mutation value to reach zero before it decays; an expired timer extends by 24 hours while that minimum remains unmet. Unwatered plants halt instead of dying, but cannot spread mutations, share crop effects or count toward the unique bonus until watered.
The maximum Unique Crop Bonus now needs 10 unique crops instead of 12, but its maximum Growth Speed and Yield bonuses both fall to 25%, from 30% and 36% respectively. Recheck a layout that relied on those old bonuses; the Plant Diagnostics Tool’s new Sanity Check also shows which mutations can grow in a spot.
Plan mining around Cole’s whole term. When Cole has the Mining Fiesta perk, the fiesta now spans his entire mayorship, with its base Mining Fortune buff reduced to +25%. Brynmor sells up to five Fiesta Flasks that stack additively with that buff, so choose when to use them around the sessions you can actually play.
Check your Dungeon party’s completions. Boss and Watcher dialogue, cutscenes and Watcher summons are faster, with most time saves conditional on every player having cleared the floor at least once. Revive Stones now work in solo Dungeons, while Spirit Masks gain a Master Mode Floor IV requirement; check that requirement before relying on one.
Preview reforges before applying them. Right-click a Reforge Stone to inspect its stats at every rarity, or open /reforges through chat, the Hex or the Blacksmith. Advanced Reforge application costs now depend on the stone’s rarity instead of the target item’s rarity, so recheck the displayed fee before confirming.
Recheck combat rewards and returning-player help. Mob levels now generally derive from health and damage, with those levels feeding into skill XP, coin and XP-orb rewards. If you have been offline for at least 90 days, visit Calvin on your Private Island for returning-player buffs lasting seven days.
What does the update mean for your spending?
A new use for an item is a reason to check its live price, not proof that its price will rise. For the drone upgrade, open Forest Essence on SkyCofl before buying the full amount.
At 10:13 UTC on October 10, 2026, Forest Essence has a 349.3-coin buy quote and a 305.2-coin sell quote, a 44.1-coin spread per essence. The shop upgrade shown in both videos needs 2,500 essence, so its essence-only purchase budget is 2,500 × 349.3 = 873,250 coins at that quote.
For comparison, selling that same 2,500 essence at the quoted sell price returns 763,000 coins before fees. The difference is 110,250 coins before fees, so buying the ingredients and changing your mind has a measurable cost even if the quotes stay unchanged; this is a purchase-cost example, not a profitable flip.
At 10:13 UTC on October 10, 2026, Diamond Essence has a 341.3-coin buy quote, putting Mining off Camera’s 2,500-essence cost at 853,250 coins. Wither Essence is quoted at 3.5k coins to buy (rounded), so InfiniPot’s 5,000-essence shop price needs roughly 17.5 million coins if you buy all the essence. Check the live total before choosing that convenience purchase; Dungeon potions remain an additional expense.
These essence budgets exclude the pet, other upgrades and ongoing potion purchases. They also assume the displayed quote is available for the whole quantity: check the order depth and final total before confirming your purchase.
Did prices rise or fall after the update?
The official release thread dates 0.27.2 to October 6, 2026, at 14:46 UTC. The monthly graphs below compare the arithmetic mean of seven daily points from September 29–October 5 with the available points after release: October 7–9 for Bazaar items and October 7–10 for Blood God Crest. October 6’s samples precede the announcement, so they are excluded from both averages.
These are coins per item, calculated from the monthly daily series checked on October 10, 2026, rather than instant-buy quotes. Figures and percentages are approximate because the series rounds prices; the percentage is (after ÷ before − 1) × 100.

The four junk ingredients are used to craft Drone Mod: Contraband: 8 Busted Belt Buckles, 1 Old Leather Boot, 64 Rusty Coins and 1 Water Orb. Blood God Crest’s row measures its auction price; the 500,000-coin NPC sell value above is a separate release change.
The timing does not establish that the update caused these moves. Wither Essence had already reached about 3,200 coins at 02:00 UTC on October 6, before the announcement; Forest Essence had also rebounded to 392 coins by then, while Diamond Essence was already down to 306.1. Water Orb, Old Leather Boot and Rusty Coin rose on October 5, and Busted Belt Buckle’s October 1 spike had already reversed by October 2; its unusually high pre-release point lifts the before average.
For a buyer, the post-release averages mean a higher historical cost for Forest and Wither upgrades and a slightly lower one for the Diamond upgrade. Contraband’s ingredients moved in different directions: at these averages, its full recipe rises from roughly 2.37 million to 2.57 million coins, about 8.3%, despite cheaper buckles. Use the live quotes and order depth for an actual purchase: the Forest upgrade’s 873,250-coin October 10 budget above uses the buy quote; it still depends on available order depth.
What should you do this week?
- Check your fishing collection and choose the bait sack you can already craft. Verify the selected bait before fishing.
- If you already use a Precursor Drone for foraging, compare the essence-only budget with your available coins before buying its Forest Essence upgrade.
- If you want automatic Dungeon potions, check which potion is selected and whether automatic purchases are enabled before you begin a session.
Avoid buying a whole set of upgrades just because they arrived together. Pick one that removes a problem in your current routine, then judge whether the improvement justifies the expense.
When should you recheck this advice?
Recalculate the essence budget if the buy quote, available depth or shop cost changes. A later patch to drone bonuses, bait selection or automatic potion purchases would also change the relevant recommendation; verify the current in-game tooltip before spending.
The October 10 quote is a dated comparison, not a price target. Use the live item page again when you are ready to buy.
