Hypixel SkyBlock 0.26.0 Update Guide: Loadouts, Resource Pack & Security Quest
Last verified · Patch 0.26.0
Hypixel SkyBlock 0.26.0 went live on July 8, 2026, after an Alpha Release Candidate on July 3. The headline theme is quality of life and account safety rather than new content — a long-requested Loadout system, the game's first official (and mandatory) SkyBlock Resource Pack, and a new Security Quest teaching scam awareness. It also had one of the messier launch days in recent memory. This guide separates what officially shipped from what is still an unconfirmed rumor, and gives a short list of what actually matters for your market and gear decisions this week.
Official Hypixel 0.26.0 patch notes and changelog, plus creator commentary from Derailious and Nitroze covering practical Loadout behavior and the launch-day incident.
What 0.26.0 actually changed
Three systems make up the bulk of this patch: a full account Loadout system, a mandatory resource pack, and a new Security Hall questline. Everything else — balance tweaks and bug fixes — is comparatively minor. None of it adds new grind content, so the update is best understood as Hypixel investing in retention and safety rather than progression.
Loadouts: the headline quality-of-life change
The new /loadout system, also reachable from the SkyBlock Menu, saves a full account setup in one slot: all four armor pieces, your equipped equipment, active pet, accessory power, stat-tuning point allocation, and your Heart of the Mountain and Heart of the Forest tree selections. Swapping a Loadout applies all of it in a single action — including while you are inside a Dungeon run, which is the change most players asked for.
Alongside Loadouts, Hypixel added an Equipment Wardrobe (/eq) that pairs saved equipment sets with any armor set, and raised the default number of wardrobe slots from 2 to 4. The first stat-tuning template is now free for every player, and players who previously bought templates with Bits have been refunded. The Community Shop also gained upgrades that let you purchase extra Loadout, HotM, HotF and Equipment slots for coins instead of everything being Bit-gated.
Hypixel raised the Heart of the Mountain and Heart of the Forest tree-swap cooldown from 30 seconds to 10 minutes specifically to stop players min-maxing by swapping trees mid-fight. Creator Derailious notes there is a minor manual-reselect workaround, but it is slower than the old 30-second swap and not worth building a strategy around.
Practically, this means dungeon groups, slayer parties and event grinders no longer need five minutes of manual re-gearing between activities. If you run multiple builds (mining vs. combat vs. farming), set up your Loadouts once this week — it is the single biggest time saver in the patch.
The SkyBlock Resource Pack is mandatory, not optional
0.26.0 ships Hypixel’s first official SkyBlock resource pack, and it is force-enabled: you cannot join SkyBlock without it. The pack retextures over 800 assets, mostly materials and blocks, with partial coverage of weapons and tools. Armor and pet textures are explicitly not included in this first version and are planned for a later update. Hypixel already iterated on more than 100 textures during the alpha period based on player feedback, and the pack assets are unobfuscated on the Hypixel API.
There is currently no plan for an official toggle to disable the pack or revert to vanilla textures. Players who prefer the old look are using third-party community packs layered on top of the official one, distributed through Modrinth. Content creators are permitted to use the new textures in thumbnails and monetized videos, but cannot claim authorship of the assets or sell merchandise using them.
If your setup depends on a specific resource pack for readability (colorblind accessibility packs, low-fire packs, etc.), test compatibility with the new base pack before your next grinding session — a forced base layer can change how overlay packs render.
Security Hall and the Security Quest
A new NPC, Susan, leads a Safety Squad questline based in the Community Center that walks players through account security and scam awareness. Completing it rewards a Safety Badge accessory (+3 Defense plus a smaller Intelligence bonus) and a soulbound Booster Cookie, delivered through NPC Elizabeth. Hypixel has signaled the Security Hall area is planned to expand with more content later, so this reads as the first phase of an ongoing safety push rather than a one-off event.
The Safety Badge is a minor stat item, not something to farm or flip — it is soulbound and account-specific. Complete the quest for the accessory slot value and the cookie, then move on.
Balance changes and bug fixes
| Change | What happened |
|---|---|
| Golden Dragon rework | ”Gold’s Power” perk no longer works as before — now buffs the Greed ability on Midas-line items instead |
| Ragnarock buffed | +30 Strength added to the weapon |
| Enchant removal | All enchantments can now be removed via the Enchanting menu, even ones no longer obtainable |
| Spider Slayer fix | Conjoined Brood spawn issue with certain gear combinations resolved |
| Misc fixes | Fel Pearl NPC right-click interaction fixed, pet-skin display bug on rideable pets fixed, several stat/UI icon textures updated |
Watch Midas Sword and related item pricing for a possible bump if the Golden Dragon rework makes Greed builds meaningfully stronger, and check the Auction House for Ragnarock pricing given the straightforward power increase.
On the technical side, Hypixel dropped support for Minecraft 1.21.9 and 1.21.10, and the recommended client version is now Minecraft 26.2. Update your client before logging in if you are still on an older build.
The launch-day incident: what happened and what did not
Shortly after 0.26.0 went live, Hypixel pulled SkyBlock down for emergency maintenance. Two bugs were confirmed: a currency bug that gave some players 2 billion Powder and 2 billion Whispers, and a separate bug that spawned some players into an empty void world. Both were fixed during the maintenance window, and Hypixel states no inventory data was lost — player state was preserved server-side throughout. As compensation for the disruption, Hypixel extended the ongoing “Year 500 Raffle of the Century” event.
Creator Nitroze relayed a secondhand report of a /dupe hand exploit allegedly active during the maintenance window that could duplicate items. Creator Derailious, who was active at the time, says he saw no evidence of it happening and does not believe the report. Hypixel has not issued any statement confirming an item duplication exploit. Nothing here should be read as confirmed — it is one unverified secondhand claim contradicted by a firsthand creator account, and it stays that way until Hypixel says otherwise.
The confirmed bug worth tracking is the Powder/Whispers overflow. Powder itself is not tradeable, so it has limited direct Auction House or bazaar impact, but it is still an open question whether the erroneous currency was fully clawed back from affected accounts or just left in place since inventories were not touched. If you see unusual pricing on Powder-gated crafts or Heart of the Mountain-adjacent items in the coming days, this incident is the most likely explanation — not a market fundamental.
What this means for the market this week
Most of 0.26.0 is pure quality of life. Loadouts, the Equipment Wardrobe and the resource pack do not change item supply or demand directly, so do not expect them to move bazaar or Auction House prices on their own. The balance changes are the more interesting angle: if the Golden Dragon/Midas rework meaningfully strengthens Greed-based builds, demand for Midas-line items and Golden Dragon pets could tick up over the next week as players re-evaluate endgame loadouts. The Ragnarock buff is a smaller, more contained signal worth a quick Auction House check if you already own or are shopping for one.
The bigger economic wildcard is the launch-day currency bug. Watch real-time market movement rather than reacting to forum chatter — use SkyCofl top movers to catch sudden bazaar spikes early, SkyCofl bazaar for live lowest-BIN and spread data on individual items, and BazaarPro market trends or BazaarTracker demand to confirm whether any price move is backed by real coins/hour volume or is just noise from a handful of overpowered accounts. If something spikes on rumor alone with no matching demand signal, it is not a flip worth chasing.
